Build your own bat detector! This kit form of the Magenta bat detector makes an economical good basic detector.

Please note that this is not a simple kit and to build it successfully you should have soldering and electronics skills and be able to understand circuit diagrams. (If you are in any doubt we recommend choosing the Magenta Bat4 ready-built version).
