An initial documentary outlines the worldwide usefulness of bats, and puts the Irish species into context within Europe. The life history of Ireland's bats is outline, as are threats to their continued existence, and ways in which we can all help to conserve them.
The second section provides a visual field guide to each of Ireland's known bat species and shows how to identify them in the hand. Features of confusable species are highlighted using artwork, still photography and video to make identification easy.
Finally, the DVD shows how to safely capture and release a bat that has accidentally entered a dwelling or become grounded.
